Hy, I am sending a high speed probe to Jool (1y100d of travel) and I am planning to use the stock inflatable aero shield to aerobrake on the orbit of the planet. Big question is the height that I aim to do that without exploding my ship or being dragged by the gas giant. Aerobraking is a spaceflight maneuver that reduces the high point of an elliptical orbit by flying the vehicle through the atmosphere at the low point of the orbit.
